Our Team
StackHK was founded by two media entrepreneurs who saw a gap in how AI tools were being reviewed — and decided to fill it with honest, hands-on testing.
A Hong Kong-born media entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience across digital publishing, online media and technology content. Having worked across Hong Kong, Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific market, John brings a strong understanding of how technology products are adopted by Asian consumers and businesses.
A Singapore-based digital media entrepreneur with experience building and scaling online media businesses across Singapore and Australia. Joel focuses on business development, audience growth, commercial partnerships and digital publishing operations.
Why We Started StackHK
John and Joel founded StackHK after seeing a growing problem in the AI software market: thousands of new AI tools were launching every month, but most product coverage was driven by marketing rather than genuine hands-on testing.
With backgrounds in digital media, online publishing and technology, they believed there was an opportunity to build an independent media platform focused specifically on AI tools — one that answers a simple question: Which AI tools actually work in the real world?
Rather than relying on vendor claims or short product demos, the StackHK team tests tools through real-world workflows and publishes practical reviews designed to help professionals, founders and businesses make better technology decisions.
